Hydrocele

Hydrocele (as it is called “hydrocele”) – a cluster of large amounts of fluid between the inner and outer (parietal) leaf shell eggs. Tunica vaginalis (it is part of the peritoneum more time spent with the fetus in the womb) produces a fluid that serves as a kind of lubricant for the full movement of the testicle. In this disease the body’s lymphatic functions are broken apparatus, the resulting liquid is not absorbed and gradually begins to accumulate.

The disease is both acquired and congenital. The acquired form of the disease is of two types – primary and secondary (occurs as a result of injuries, when a tumor of the epididymis, testicular inflammation of the membranes). The volume of the liquid from the mold is completely independent and can be absolutely anything – from a few milliliters to 3.2 liters (there are examples in history when people due to this disease could neither sit nor walk).

Causes

  •    In the 19th century the most “popular” cause of the disease has gonorrhea. Today hydrocele can easily occur even after a feeble (at first sight, of course) strike to the groin. Painless swelling of the patient notices in 1-2 weeks. “Sprawl” can last for years (the pain will not be), acquiring a chronic form. Sometimes the disease can occur after a successful kidney transplant operation.

The forms: acute and chronic

  •    Hydrocele is not considered a dangerous disease and often delivers only the aesthetic inconvenience. When the size of the tumor becomes very very large, there are minor problems with urination and sexual intercourse. As for the rest, there is no danger to life, but a visit to a doctor is better not to delay, since the development of the inflammatory process (and circulatory disorders, as a result of) possible loss of reproductive ability (in fact, infertility). And when there is risk of self-medication dropsy confused with, say, an inguinal hernia or cyst.
  •    The acute form of the transfer of patients diagnosed after some other diseases (tuberculosis, gonorrhea, inflammation of the epididymis). The physician diagnoses, if 50% of the scrotum is increased, and thus wrinkles are smoothed. Probing the patient’s hands finds painless education. It confirms the diagnosis, usually with the help of ultrasound.

Treatment of hydrocele

  •    If the edema in the body has evolved due to the impact of other diseases, then, of course, the main treatment should be focused on them. Treatment of the disease itself can only be operational (with the exception of only a few in number small children from one year to one and a half years).

Operations Bergman and Winckelmann

In step Winkelman a few centimeters (usually 5 to 7) cut through the skin at the scrotum, and then output from the section itself egg. The surgeon cuts through the parietal leaf, turns it inside out and carefully sews special bioresorbable suture. And then treated with incision itself. Operation Bergman from just above described procedure only way to “suture” is different skins.

Both “interference” are performed using local anesthesia, and they do not require additional preparation of the patient, is enough to remove body hair in the groin area. Typically, the patient a few days there in the hospital clinic to timely nurse or doctor could conduct the ligation. Sutures are left after surgery are removed in 7-10 days. An active sex life is allowed to engage in two-three weeks after completion of treatment.
